About Creative Optimization ETL

Creative Optimization Extract Transform Load (ETL) equips your data analysts with all the information they need for creative performance analysis. It achieves this by automatically streaming Creative Optimization reporting into cloud storage for programmatic loading into your BI systems.

Full asset-level performance reporting is provided, including all key performance indicators (KPIs), upper and lower funnel KPIs, attribution data, and creative asset data.

Creative Optimization ETL utilizes Data Locker to send your Creative Optimization reporting data to cloud storage. You can select from various storage destinations such as an AppsFlyer-owned bucket in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or your own storage in AWS, GCS, Yandex, BigQuery, Snowflake, and more. Data Locker supports multiple destinations, which means you can send all the data to one or more destinations, send specific data to certain destinations, and customize data delivery to your needs. Creative Optimization ETL is available with a Creative Optimization Premium subscription plan.

This section describes how to set up Data Locker for Creative Optimization reporting.

Set up Data Locker 

Prerequisite:

Subscription to the Creative Optimization Premium plan via your AppsFlyer CSM. Once subscribed, you can set up Data Locker. 

To set up Data Locker:

  1. Follow these instructions.
  2. When setting up Data Locker, select Creative Optimization (under Select reports), on the Data Locker configuration page.

Edit Data Locker configuration 

This section describes how to edit your existing Data Locker configuration to add Creative Optimization reporting.

To add Creative Optimization reporting to Data Locker:

  1. In AppsFlyer, from the side menu, click Export > Data Locker.
  2. On the Data Locker configuration page, under Select reports, select Creative Optimization.

Data

This section describes data availability in Creative Optimization ETL.

Data freshness

Once configured, the Creative Optimization report is streamed to Data Locker on a daily basis, providing data for the last 30 days. It will be streamed daily at UTC + 12. This means that the daily time will vary depending on your geographic location. To determine what time that is for you, use the calculation 0 UTC + 12 + your local time zone.

Some examples:
New York 0 UTC + 12 - 5 = 7:00
Berlin        0 UTC + 12 + 1 = 13:00
Shanghai  0 UTC + 12 + 8 = 20:00

  • When an ad has no available preview, the asset_link and creative columns will not be populated.
  • The following data is not yet available:
    • Custom dimension

    • In-app events
    • AI data (elements and scenes)
