Active Fraud Insights helps marketers detect three types of fraud:
- Device-Based Install Fraud - The detection of fraud hiding behind DeviceID reset fraud, Limit Ad Tracking and high concentrations of devices with suspicious engagement profiles.
- Click Flooding - The sending of large numbers of fraudulent click reports, trying to gain credit and payment for both organic and non-organic installs.
- Install Hijacking - The use of malware to send fraudulent click reports during the install process.
The Active Fraud Insights Report provides aggregated insights based on AppsFlyer's Active Fraud Suite. This is an aggregated report allowing you to view insights based on fraud detection and prevention features.
The Active Fraud Insights Report is an AppsFlyer premium feature.
The Active Fraud Insight Dashboard
The AFI dashboard provides you with details of all prevention and detection data of any fraudulent activities. The dashboard displays the following:

AppsFlyer can now block installs with short CTIT (Click to Install Time). The assumption is that a few seconds is not a reasonable time for a user to click, download, install and open an app.
Y axis shows the number of installs.
X axis shows the time lapsed since the install.
You can configure the graph to display data by seconds (default), hours and days.
Particular campaigns or media sources show a very high ratio of new Device IDs (rated as N).
Y axis shows the number of Media Sources/Publishers/Ad Set/Channels etc...
X axis shows the percentage of selected class devices from the publisher.
You can configure the graph to display data of the following classes by New Devices (default), Limited Ad Tracking (LAT), Suspicious Devices and Clean Devices.
The Aggregated Fraud Report
By default, the report displays all columns. You can filter the report to show specific columns that illustrate particular fraudulent activities, as follows:
- All (default)
- Install Fraud
- Click Flood
- Install Hijacking
The following information is available in the Active Fraud Insights Report:

NOTE: The Loyal User Rate columns allows you to view the quality of the users of each aggregation class.
