At a glance: Use two-factor authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of security to the login process. Login credentials for your team are supplemented by Google Authenticator or SMS verification.

Admin: Managing 2FA
Only the account admin can activate, reset, or deactivate team member 2FA settings.
Activate
If the admin activates Google Authenticator and SMS verification, then team members can choose which method they prefer to use.
To activate 2FA:
- Go to the email drop-down menu > Login security.
- Activate the toggle for Google Authenticator and/or SMS verification.
Reset
After reset, Google Authenticator is the default 2FA login screen.
To reset a team members 2FA:
- Go to the email drop-down menu > Team members.
- Find the relevant team member row and click the Action menu (...) > Reset 2FA.
To reset the admin's 2FA:
The admin 2FA, for security reasons, cannot be reset by the admin. Contact one of the following:
- Your Customer Success Manager (CSM)
- Open a ticket: hello@appsflyer.com
Deactivate
If 2FA is deactivated, team members will log in using only their username and password.
To deactivate 2FA:
- Go to the email drop-down menu > Login security.
- Deactivate the toggle for Google Authenticator and/or SMS verification.
- Confirm deactivation.
Team members: Using Google Authenticator
Google Authenticator is the initial default screen; however, the last 2FA method used appears at the next login.
If you choose not to use Google Authenticator, then the set-up and log-in screens have a link to the SMS verification 2FA screen.
1-time setup
Before using 2FA for the first time, every team member must download Google Authenticator and a QR code app. They are available via Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS).
New team member
- Follow email instructions and create a password.
- Log in to AppsFlyer and you'll be redirected to the 2FA setup page.
- Set up 2FA.
- Download Google Authenticator and a QR code app.
- Scan the QR code.
- Enter the Google Authenticator-issued verification code.
- Click Verify > Redirected to My apps.
Existing team members
- Log in to AppsFlyer (username and password) and you'll be redirected to the 2FA setup page.
- Set up 2FA.
- Download Google Authenticator and a QR code app.
- Scan QR code.
- Enter the Google Authenticator-issued verification code.
- Click Verify > Redirected to My apps.
Ongoing use
Follow these steps for ongoing use.
- Log in to AppsFlyer (username and password); you'll be redirected to the 2FA login page.
- Open Google Authenticator on your phone to get the verification code.
- Enter the code into the 2FA page.
- Click Verify > Redirected to My apps.
Team members: Using SMS verification
If you choose not to use SMS verification, then the set-up and log-in screens have a link to Google Authenticator 2FA screen.
1-time SMS setup
Google Authenticator is the default 2FA method. To reach the SMS verification method, click the SMS verification link.
New team member
- Follow email instructions and create a password.
- Log in to AppsFlyer and you'll be redirected to the 2FA setup page.
- Set up 2FA.
- Enter your phone number > click Send code.
- Enter SMS verification code > click Verify.
Existing team members
- Log in to AppsFlyer (username and password) and you'll be redirected to the 2FA setup page.
- Set up 2FA.
- Enter your phone number > click Send code.
- Enter SMS verification code > click Verify.
Ongoing SMS use
Follow these steps for ongoing use.
- Log in to AppsFlyer (username and password); you'll be redirected to the 2FA login page.
- SMS verification page will appear if it was used at your last log in. If not, click the link at the bottom of the Google Authenticator 2FA page.
- Your phone number appears automatically. Click Send code.
- Enter the verification code sent by SMS.
- Click Verify.
