Data sharing principles
Using Advanced Privacy controls advertisers decide if:
- User-level identifiers are shared with ad networks
- Agencies can change Advanced Privacy settings per ad network. See agency related considerations for ad networks.
Configuration by advertisers: Advanced Privacy data sharing
The Advanced Privacy data sharing setting has the following
- [Default] Off: Data shared with ad networks includes available user-level identifiers.
- On:
- Maximize end-user privacy and helps you to comply with Apple iOS 14 privacy requirements.
- Data is shared with ad networks at an aggregated level. This means without user identifiers.
- In the case that AppTrackingTransparency (ATT) consent has been granted by a user, in both the advertiser and publisher apps, identifiers are shared as enumerated in the table.

Agency related considerations for advertisers
Integration can be set by either the advertiser or an agency. In both cases, the data sharing principles described in this article apply. However, default data sharing settings differ as depicted in the flowchart that follows.
Procedures for advertisers
Set ad network Advanced Privacy
The Advanced Privacy setting relates to a specific ad network for a specific app.
To switch Advanced Privacy on:
- Go to Configuration > Integrated Partners. Select the ad network.
- In the Integration tab, switch on Advanced Privacy.
Grant agency permission to set Advanced Privacy
To allow agencies to set Advanced Privacy:
- Go to Configuration > Integrated Partners. Select the agency.
- In the Permissions tab, switch on Allow to configure ad network Advanced Privacy data sharing.
Information for agencies
The impact of Advanced Privacy relates to the sharing of user-level identifiers with ad networks. Your ability to change the Advanced Privacy setting depends on the permission set by the advertiser as described in the table that follows.
